They serve as members of their family's church in Oran, MO and love spending time outside with their two dogs, Maxwell and MJ. She excelled in competitive gymnastics at a young age with Show-Me Gymnastics in Columbia, MO where she developed her love for tumbling. Keona competed in gymnastics for several years at meets all over the Midwest. She began cheerleading in Junior High School and continued her experience with sideline and competition cheerleading at Hickman High School, where she served as the team captain her senior year. Keona later competed with two all-star programs in her hometown while she participated in cheerleading for her community college on a full ride scholarship. As her passion for cheerleading continued, Keona began coaching all-star in 2015 while competing at the collegiate level with Central Methodist University’s Coed team. In her all-Star career she was awarded several national championships, numerous individual season awards and traveled to NCA College Nationals in Dayton Beach Florida. Keona currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Central Methodist University and began her masters at The University of Central Missouri’s Graduate School studying Speech Communication. This begins Coach Keona’s 8th season of coaching competitive cheerleading, alongside coaching school cheer summer camps, judging varsity and JV cheerleading tryouts, and strictly coaching one on one tumbling instruction. Keona was a 2x National Champion, Full Ride Scholarship recipient for Cheerleading at the collegiate level and led her teams over the past 8 years in more than 27 Championship Titles.
“Cheerleading meant the world to me when I was an athlete, and I quickly realized how much cheerleading had changed my life forever. Being able to give something so special to other children and athletes is all I ever dreamed of doing. I wanted to give as many children as possible, the love and passion that our sport gave to me. Cheerleading motivated me to work harder in school, make better friends and be a decent human being. And because of cheerleading, I am who I am today. I hope to share my story with the world and motivate others. It taught me to never give up, to keep trying even at my lowest points and that sometimes your purpose is bigger than what our eyes can see. I soon realized my purpose. I was never here to share my talent with our industry. I am here to give hope and joy to our youth in the industry of All Star Cheerleading. That’s why I opened Kobalt Cheer.” - Coach Keona
